Regulation of Crypto-Asset Operations
Settlements for crypto-asset operations are carried out predominantly in non-cash form. In turn, cash operations are permitted only if all of the following conditions are met:
- The transaction amount is up to 300,000 AMD.
- The operation is conducted through a registered provider.
- Client identification (KYC) is mandatory.
What This Means for Users
- All crypto-asset operations are processed through official services.
- In most cases, a bank card or electronic payment will be required.
- Identity verification may be required when using cryptomats and exchange points.
Armenia's crypto-service market already operates within a regulated framework—with a defined list of providers and strict non-cash settlement requirements. This translates to increased transparency and predictability when dealing with crypto-assets.
