The Parliament of Armenia has adopted, in its second and final reading, amendments to the Law on State Duties, which provide for a significant reduction in payments for constructing greenhouses and implementing drip irrigation systems.
According to the approved changes, the financial burden on agribusiness will be substantially reduced. For example:
- For a 1.5-hectare greenhouse, total duties will drop from approximately 25 million to 5 million AMD.
- For a 500 sq. m. greenhouse, they will decrease from 500 000 to 100 000 AMD.
The reduction in duties is expected to simplify the launch of new greenhouse operations, lower the entry threshold for farmers, and accelerate the development of the agricultural sector.
