Armenian Banks Now Serve 5.5 Million Clients: Annual Growth Exceeds 10%

According to the Statistical Committee of Armenia, as of December 2025, commercial banks in the country served 5,499,418 clients. This is an increase of 532,360 people compared to the previous year, representing a 10.7% growth rate.


The majority of clients are individuals:


  1. 5,269,090 – individuals
  2. 230,328 – legal entities

In parallel, the number of bank accounts is also rising. As of December 2025, the total reached 11,890,633, an annual increase of 1,224,655 accounts or 11.5%.


The account structure is as follows:


  1. 11,438,969 – accounts of individuals
  2. 451,664 – accounts of legal entities


The growth in the number of clients and accounts reflects the active penetration of banking services in the country, increased financial activity of the population, and the development of digital services and online banking. This trend also indicates a gradual decrease in the share of cash transactions and a transition toward a more transparent financial system.
